In this episode, I share more about how this truth has played out in my own life — and the steps you can take to make it real in yours.
The Time I Did Everything Wrong
I was working full-time for a local government agency. The office was highly toxic – especially towards women.
I tried – and failed – to get another job. Meanwhile, things came to a head at my current workplace. My physical health was being compromised.
👉🏻 I ended up quitting my job without having a new one lined up. All I had was my pension withdrawal to sustain me.
This was not a decision that typical Jenn would have made.
⛪The root issue wasn’t my workplace situation – it was that I had drifted from God despite having a deep relationship with Him for over 15 years.
Like a snowball that picks up speed – and size – as it barrels downhill, this led to other massive mistakes.
I had been drawn to entrepreneurship – and setting up an online business – outside of my day job.
💻 As I drifted away from God, I drifted into a secular online entrepreneurial community that wasn’t built on true wisdom.
I charged thousands of dollars, buying coaching programs and online courses that promised to deliver that one thing that would suddenly make my business take off.
But nothing changed.
In early 2020, as I attended an entrepreneur conference in California, God spoke to me for the first time in a long time.
God said to me: “Your business is My mission.”
💬 God didn’t say, “Wow, you screwed up big time.” Or “You’re so unlovable now.” Or “I no longer love you.”
Instead, God called me to completely lay down the business and focus on renewing my relationship with Him. Meanwhile, He provided a contract job to ensure I had income.
Later on, He gave me directions on what Relate Escape should actually be (according to His mission).
I had made a huge mess of things.
💗 But God’s love and goodness were bigger than my mistakes. Bigger than my sin.
Also, God never removed His love or provision. He never made me feel dumb, or shameful, or full of guilt.
Instead, He met me with love and mercy and grace and got me back on track.
God’s Love, Goodness, and Forgiveness are Unlimited
📖 This is the character of the biblical character God.
And maybe that sounds crazy considering where you’re coming from. But it’s true.
Romans 8:38-39 (NLT) says: “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
John 3:16-17 (ESV) says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
Psalm 103:12 (NLT) says, “He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.”
Isaiah 41:10 (NLT) says, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
❤️🔥 Friend, God’s not looking for reasons to let you go. His desire is to draw you closer.
Especially when you’ve faltered or sinned (like I did). Because He’s the One who can truly help you.
He wants to provide healing and restore what’s been lost.
He wants to free you from sin and the other unnecessary weights you’ve been carrying – such as trying to earn His love through perfection.
He loves you more than you can imagine, and wants something better for you. Something only He can provide.
