In this episode, I share more about how this truth has played out in my own life — and the steps you can take to make it real in yours.

Your Identity is in God – Not Your Circumstances

  • 👉🏻 Your identity, calling, worth, and future aren’t found in - or hindered by - your circumstances (past, present, or future).

  • 🌳 Those things are rooted in God and His character.

  • As women, this can be difficult to believe. In addition to struggling with understanding who God really is, we’re constantly told by society that our identity and worth should come from things such as:

    • What we look like

    • How much we weigh

    • What we wear

    • Our relationship status or who we’re in a relationship with

    • What job title we have

    • How we act

  • In addition, we’re held accountable for the actions of others.

  • 💝 But the Bible is clear. It’s ultimately as God’s daughter that our identity is found. And it’s He who directs our steps – and who has good plans for both you and I.

God Loves You – And Always Will

  • Jeremiah 31:3 (NLT): Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.”

  • Psalm 100:5 (NLT): For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

God Sees You as a Masterpiece

  • Ephesians 2:10 (NLT): For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

  • Psalm 139:13-14 (NLT): You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

God Says You are Family

  • Ephesians 2:19 (NLT): So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.

  • 1 John 3:1 (NLT): See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!

God Says You are Blessed

  • James 1:17 (NLT): Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

  • Numbers 6:24-26 (NLT): May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.

  • Matthew 6:30-33 (MSG): Jesus says,If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.”

God Says You Have a Purpose

  • Acts 13:36 (NIV): Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed.

  • Proverbs 19:21 (NIV): Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
