In this episode, I share more about how this truth has played out in my own life — and the steps you can take to make it real in yours.
God Has Promised to Never Abandon You
🎧 Tip: Listen to Episode #203 (see player above) to hear how God has proven faithful to His Word in my life.
The Bible is clear. No matter what we do or what we face; no matter where we’re coming from or where we’re going; God will never abandon us.
Deuteronomy 31:6 (NLT): “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Joshua 1:5 (NLT): “No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.”
Joshua 1:9 (NLT): “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Isaiah 41:10 (NLT): “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
Psalm 94:14 (NLT): “The Lord will not reject his people; he will not abandon his special possession.”
Isaiah 41:7 (NLT): “When the poor and needy search for water and there is none, and their tongues are parched from thirst, then I, the Lord, will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will never abandon them.”
Daily Exercise
How can you lean into this truth in your own life?
👉🏻 The main objective needs to be actively replacing the lies with truth.
✍🏻 Here’s a simple, daily exercise to help you do just that:
When you feel God is distant or silent, pull out your phone or a journal and write down the specific thought that you’re thinking (for example, “God doesn’t care about me”).
Then, right next to it, write a verse that speaks the truth (such as Deuteronomy 31:6; Joshua 1:5; or Psalm 94:14).
You might also want to keep that verse close (such as on a sticky note or on your phone’s lock screen) so you can easily repeat it whenever the lie returns.
Trust me, this simple exercise will have a major impact – especially over time.
