In this episode, I share more about how this truth has played out in my own life — and the steps you can take to make it real in yours.

The World Says We’re Unlovable. God Says He Loves Us.

  • 👉🏻 Through the years, the world has often told me that I’m unlovable. But my Heavenly Father has taught me otherwise.

  • It doesn’t matter how broken, sinful, or messy we are.

  • It doesn’t matter how much we weigh, what ethnicity we are, or what our background is.

  • 💕 God loves us unconditionally – without fail – because of who He is.

    • Jeremiah 31:3 (NLT): Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.”

    • Psalm 100:5 (NLT): For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

    • Romans 5:8 (NLT): But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

    • John 3:16-17 (NLT): For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

    • 1 John 4:19 (NLT): We love each other because he loved us first.

  • 💫  Friend, the world may tell you that you’re unlovable. But your biblical identity includes being loved – as you are – by the Creator of the Universe.

The World Says We Don’t Fit In. God Says We’re His Chosen Family.

  • God has never made me feel excluded or unseen.

  • 👉🏻 In fact, He’s made it clear that He specifically chose me to be a permanent part of His family.

    • Ephesians 2:19 (NLT): So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.

    • 1 John 3:1 (NLT): See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!

    • Ephesians 1:4-6 (NLT): Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.  God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.

    • John 15:15-16 (NLT): Jesus says, “I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.”

  • 👐🏼 Friend, the world may tell you that you don’t fit in. But your biblical identity includes being a part of God’s chosen family – something that no one can take away from you.

Creative Exercise

  • 🎨 Here’s a practical exercise you can do this week to start letting go of old labels and step into who God really says you are.

  • Grab a sheet of paper – or open Canva or a Google Doc if you’d rather keep things digital.

    • On one side, write down the old labels that you’ve been carrying — the things the world has told you about yourself.

    • Then, next to each one, write down the truth of what God says about you.

    • If you don’t know where to start, that’s okay. You can always Google something simple, like “Bible verses about God’s love” or “scriptures about identity in Christ.” You’ll find plenty of verses that speak to who you really are.

    • And if you’re a member of Relate Escape Place, you can even ask for suggestions inside the community.

  • Now here’s where you get creative: turn your list into something visual.

    • You can make a word art collage in Canva, or pull out some markers and magazines.

    • You can frame your artwork, pin it on a cork board, or hang it where you’ll see it every day.

    • The point is to literally surround yourself with the truth of what God says about you — so whenever those old labels creep back in, you’ll have something beautiful and powerful to remind you of your real identity.

    • And if you’re a member of Relate Escape Place, feel free to share a photo of your board so we can celebrate with you.
