In this episode, I share more about how this truth has played out in my own life — and the steps you can take to make it real in yours.

God Welcomes Your Questions

  • Do you disagree with the version of God you’ve been taught about?

  • Have you been told that it’s wrong to question God or religion?

  • 👉🏻 God welcomes both your questions and your journey of discovery.

  • This is why the Bible contains verses such as:

    • James 1:5 (NLT): “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”

    • Proverbs 2:6 (NLT): “For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.”

    • Proverbs 4:7 (NLT): “Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment.”

  • The true God of the Bible wants you to ask questions! You can even ask Him directly!

  • 💖 Why? Because He wants you to know the real Him.

  • There are numerous examples of this in the Bible.

  • ✝️ The Disciples Asked Jesus Questions

    • Throughout the Gospels (i.e., the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), Jesus’ disciples often asked questions about His teachings, the Kingdom of God, and even His identity.

    • They didn’t understand everything Jesus was trying to reveal to them. Often, they were downright lost or confused.

    • 👉🏻 Yet Jesus never rebuked them for asking. Instead, He clarified and used their questions as opportunities for growth.

    • Friend, asking questions is simply part of the learning process.

    • It’s not forbidden. And it’s not rebellion.

  • 🧕🏻 Mary Asked The Angel How She Could Concieve As A Virgin

    • In Luke 1:26-33 (NLT) we read:

      • In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!”

      • Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God! You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!”

    • Mary takes this in and, in the very next verse, asks something every logical thinker will appreciate:

      • Mary asked the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” (verse 34)

    • 😇 The angel didn’t rebuke or punish her for asking a clarifying question.

    • Instead, he simply answered her and explained that the Holy Spirit would come upon her.

    • God welcomed Mary’s honest inquiry and provided clarity.

  • 🪣 The Samaritan Woman at the Well Questioned Jesus

    • In John 4, we read that Jesus traveled to Samaria and waited at the well in order to talk to a particular woman.

    • 💬 During their conversation, she questioned Jesus about several things:

      • In John 4:9 (NLT), she asked Jesus about His intentions. It says: The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?”

      • In verses 11-12, she questions His claim about having living water. We read: But sir, you don’t have a rope or a bucket,” she said, “and this well is very deep. Where would you get this living water? And besides, do you think you’re greater than our ancestor Jacob, who gave us this well? How can you offer better water than he and his sons and his animals enjoyed?”

      • Then in verse 20, she questions Jesus about worship by saying: “So tell me, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim, where our ancestors worshiped?”

    • 💖 Not once did Jesus scold her. Instead, He used her questions to reveal who He is and guide her into truth.

    • Friend, your questions are a good thing

    • They can lead to a deeper understanding of the true God of the Bible, regardless of where you’re coming from.
